Tukwila leader appointed to King County Council

De’Sean Quinn, a Tukwila City Council member since 2008, has been appointed to a vacancy on the King County Council. The position represents the Renton, Kent, Des Moines, SeaTac, and Normandy Park areas.

Quinn replaces Dave Upthegrove, who resigned after being elected last November as Washington’s state lands commissioner.

The rest of the County Council members selected Quinn over two other finalists. He will serve at least until this fall, when he can run for election to the council.

To accept the county appointment, Quinn stepped down from his Tukwila council office  and also resigned his job with the county as a manager for King County Metro.
